In 2022 Holly worked as a script consultant on NAPOLEON by Tom Ward-Thomas, before making her directorial debut with the 30 minute film. Bitten hard by the screen-directing bug, Holly went on to complete a Masters in Film Production at the University Of Hertfordshire, graduating with distinction in 2024.
Holly created and directed two short films in the same year; A BED OF FOXGLOVES, adapted from the short play by award winning stage and screen writer, Anna Jordan (Succession, Killing Eve) and starring Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey, The Last Bus, Lovejoy) and THE POINT OF DISAPPEARANCE adapted from the short story by Stephanie Percival.
In 2025 Holly directed and script-edited THIS TIME NEXT/LAST YEAR, a short film by Sophie Ash and produced by Joshua Opriasa. Currently in post-production, the film tells the story of a couple’s journey through the fight against depression over the course of a year.
In June 2025 Holly will be directing and producing a new short film THE HALF in collaboration with Westminster School. Foxglove Femmes Productions professional crew will work alongside pupils from Westminster and its’ partner state school, Harris Westminster to create the film, from a script written by Harris Westminster student Ava Persson.
Holly has a strong creative focus on female-led and working-class stories about personal struggles within contemporary society. Recognising the severe under-representation of women in behind-the-camera roles within the film industry, Holly established Foxglove Femmes Productions, a collaborative network of female-identifying professional crew who will work together on future projects.
Holly is also an experienced theatre maker, and a founding Director of EWT Theatre for the Community CIC. Throughout the early stages of lockdown in Spring 2020, Holly worked as a dramaturg on Estimated Waiting Time with writer, Mark Lindow. Joining forces with producer Lauren Reed, they went on to produce two Arts Council England funded tours of the show in 2021, delivering performances and associated workshops to Islington schools and performing in Housing Estates and Parks across the country.
